Drama Club
In 1649, to St George’s Hill, a ragged band they called The Diggers came to show the people’s will.” These words, from Leon Rosselson’s song,The World Turned Upside Down, are the introduction to this term’s Drama Club production, inspired by events and ideas that followed the execution of Charles I. In this year of the Diamond Jubilee, The Drama Club looks back to the one period in history when the English thought they could make do without a monarch, thanks very much. It was a time when ordinary people had extraordinary ideas and, thanks to the lack of censorship and the relative ease of printing, those ideas survived. They have a surprising resonance with contemporary events and they still influence us today. Through a mixture of music, dance and role-play, The Drama Club explores the thoughts and actions of the past and their continued relevance for the present. It’s not your average school play. It’s The Drama Club!!!
Bedford Borough Vision for EducationYou may have seen in the press a Bedford Borough Council publication about their Vision for Education in Bedford. They asked schools and parents to respond. Click below for Goldington Green Lower School's Governor response.
